Our featured speaker is Emily Springer, who will present “Blockchain Basics: The Promise, the Tech, and its Application to International Development.” The World Bank, USAID, and UN have recently dedicated teams to harness blockchain technology for social good. But what is blockchain? This talk will be an introductory overview of what blockchain is, why it stands to become a disruptive technology, and its significance for the international development sector. Emily is a PhD candidate in Sociology, with experience in both international development and software consulting.
